LTA president visits our club

David Rawlinson, president of the LTA, visited St Ives Tennis Club during the opening week of our exciting new courts project.
His verdict: "You have a great looking club in a beautiful setting."
The president and his wife Brenda visited the club with Cornwall Tennis treasurer Malcolm Peters and  lead volunteer Hilary Webster.
They spent quite a long time chatting with men's first team captain James Brown, who has driven the project, and club coach Colin Stringer.
David Rawlinson, impressed that we had become the first club in Cornwall to have artificial clay courts by making the huge financial commitment to install Advantage RedCourt, said: "It's great that you have got a really good new surface.
"Synthetic clay is the future. The LTA encourages it because it's a really good surface for coaching and player development."
The visitors were also impressed with our new Junior Red Court area, our intention to increase opportunities for young players and our plans to have a portable floodlight system in the near future.
