Code of Conduct

Junior Code of Conduct

Our aim is always to provide a professional, safe and fun environment for all players and their guests.

Required behaviour for all coaching sessions and events is as follows:

During Coaching Sessions and Matches
•    Treat all Coaches, Coaching Assistants, Players and Opponents with respect
•    Treat the court, equipment and facilities with respect
•    Only water is allowed on court
•    Food may only be eaten off court
•    Chewing gum is forbidden at the club
•    All commands requested from the Coach should be done immediately and without question.
•    Picking up the tennis balls should be done straight away and in a quick and safe manner when asked to do so by the Coach.
•    A big group works well when each member is supportive of and positive to others, (consequently bullying is not tolerated).
•    Be prepared to work with and gain from players who are stronger and weaker than you. Full commitment is required in both situations.
•    Ultimately ATTITUDE needs to be of a high standard (consequently bad language, hitting or throwing balls around and answering back will not be tolerated).

Between Coaching Sessions
•    Players are asked to stay close to the courts or in the Club House so that they are ready when called
•    All club facilities are to be treated with respect at all times
•    Players are asked not to run around the club

Parents Code of Conduct

We want your child to enjoy the event. Creating too much pressure or expectation can make coaching and competition an unpleasant experience.  Parents are therefore asked to :
•    Comment positively on your child's performance
•    Not interfere with coaching sessions, scoring or line calling unless they are acting as an agreed helper or scorer
•    Show respect for the Coaches, Coaching Assistants, all players and in matches, your child’s opponents
•    Refrain from calling out other than to offer your child encouragement during the coaching sessions and matches

Our aim is to create an environment where children can enjoy coaching and competition and be rewarded for their efforts and activity. The purpose of these coaching sessions and events are to create a platform for players to gradually be introduced to competition at a level suitable for their age and understanding.  By doing this gradually we hope that more children will feel confident to progress to events outside the club and continue to happily compete for the rest of their lives.

Discipline Actions
Coaches have the right of refusing any junior member who is constantly breaking these guidelines the opportunity of playing in any session.  If a junior is constantly in breach of these guidelines they will be given a warning and will be expected to attend a disciplinary meeting.  Any further breaches after this may result in their membership being withdrawn for a period of time or in certain circumstances withdrawn forever.
